St Petersburg Housing Fair

BAAA is partnering with the City of St Petersburg to host the Hurricane Recovery Rental Housing Fair on Wednesday, January 22, from 3PM-7PM at the Coliseum.  

This will be a one day, in -person event, at the Coliseum in St. Pete.  BAAA member communities and/or property management companies may reserve one or more display tables at the event (6ft x 3ft) and residents from St. Pete throughout the region who were displaced by the recent hurricanes will have the opportunity to visit each table to learn about the various rental housing opportunities that are present and apply to lease units.

As you consider participation, please keep in mind the following:

• we anticipate a large turnout - not only are the number of displaced households in the city unprecedented, but anyone in the region displaced are welcome to attend;
• related, we anticipate many of the displaced will be open to housing opportunities outside the City, so BAAA Member apartment communities throughout our region are encouraged to participate;
• many of the displaced have been supported by FEMA and are in temporary accommodations at hotels/vacation rentals but they will need longer-term housing going forward;
• it will likely take at least several months for damaged homes to be repaired, though repair timelines will vary, so participating apartment communities are strongly encouraged to provide flexibility in lease length, terms, and/or discounts if possible; 
• electric outlets and internet will be available for housing providers participating in the Housing Fair.
