The 21st Annual Tampa Bay Fair Housing Symposium: Closing Doors on Discrimination, Opening Doors to Equality

This in-person only event brings together housing professionals, legal experts, and advocates to address critical fair housing topics and promote learning of fair housing practices.  This event is organized by the Tampa Bay Fair Housing Consortium (TBFHC), which is made up of housing related groups in the Tampa Bay region dedicated to educating professionals and the community on fair housing laws and best practices.  BAAA is a proud founding member of the TBFHC.  

Anyone attending this year's symposium will receive 4.0 continuing education credits* toward National Apartment Association (NAA) designations!  Conference registration is $40 and includes a light breakfast and boxed lunch.  You can register for the event by visiting the TBFHC website.

9:30–10:15 AM: Fair Housing 101 or Accommodations – Dante Bonner, Educational Outreach/Training Coordinator, Florida Commission on Human Relations

10:15–11:00 AM: Fair Housing & Recent Legal Decisions – Carl Brody, Assistant City Attorney, City of Tampa

11:15–12:00 PM: Panel Discussion: Fair Housing Lessons from Practioners – Margaret Jones, Director of Assisted Housing, Tampa Housing Authority and Kristie Storer, Community Manager, Sinatra and Company.  

12:00–12:45 PM: Boxed Lunch Provided

12:45–1:30 PM: Fraud and Fair Housing – Tim Baldwin, Founder, Property Management Law Solutions, PLLC

1:40–2:15 PM: AI & Fair Housing – Russ Webb, Executive Director, Bay Area Apartment Association

2:15–2:30 PM: Art Contest Showcase

Join us to explore legal updates, fraud prevention, technology’s role in fair housing, and actionable insights for real estate professionals and community leaders.

*TBFHC will check-in registrants who attend the event and transmit the list of attendees after the event to the Bay Area Apartment Association, who will issue the CECs.
