Updated DBPR Requirements: Human Trafficking Awareness

Posted By: Krystal Humphrey Education,
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has released updated verbiage requirements for Human Trafficking Awareness signage.

DBPR has updated its Human Trafficking Awareness sign to include a Florida hotline. Apartment communities must display the new sign by Jan. 1, 2025.

The sign must be posted in a conspicuous location at least 11 inches by 15 inches in size, printed in an easily legible font and in at least 32-point type, in English and Spanish and any other language predominantly spoken in that area. The additional requirements listed below are also still in place.

Under Florida law (F.S. 509.096), apartment communities are required to have a policy to report suspected human trafficking, display specific signage, and train employees on human trafficking awareness.

FAA University offers a comprehensive course to satisfy the training requirement, informing and equipping on-site team members with the tools to be successful.

Now through Dec. 31, 2024, the FAAU Human Trafficking Awareness training course is complimentary to FAA members.
