Discussion of New Incentives Program by St. Pete Housing Authority
Main Focus for First Bi-annual Meeting
On Wednesday, December 9 at 11:00 AM, BAAA is hosting a Zoom meeting with the St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA). This meeting is exclusively for BAAA members and is the first in what is planned to be a regularly scheduled bi-annual meeting between BAAA and SPHA. This meeting is for all BAAA members, including members who do not currently work with the SPHA.
The focus of this meeting will be a discussion of a new incentives program that SPHA is rolling out in 2021. The incentives program provides a one-time bonus to landlords who bring a new unit into the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program. The bonus is set at $600 per unit in low poverty zip codes and $400 in all other zip codes. More information concerning this new incentives program is provided below. The meeting will also be an opportunity to raise any questions or concerns with SPHA operations and landlord interactions. Larry Gonzalez, Housing Choice Voucher Officer, will represent SPHA at the meeting. Mr. Gonzalez has also served as the primary landlord liaison for SPHA.
